“I give my pledge as an American to save and to faithfully defend from waste the natural resources of my country, it’s air, it’s soil and minerals, it’s forests, waters, and wildlife.”
This is the pledge that the Freeland Conservation Club stands by and pledges before each meeting. Our members understand the importance of preserving nature for not only ourselves, but for future generations. You can find our club about two miles north of downtown Freeland, surrounded by the nature and woodlands we pledge to protect.
Whether you have been around guns your entire life, or would like to get into the sport, we pride ourselves in offering a friendly, no-judgement atmosphere for everyone who comes to visit. We are a shotgun only club and are open to the public all year round. We offer memberships for those that would like to take advantage of our member discounts. If you would like to know more about the club, visit our About page, give us a call at (989) 695-2641, or send us an email at freelandconsclub@gmail.com.
We offer a variety of shotgun activities at the club including sporting clays, 5-stand, skeet, and trap. You can click on any of the below activities to learn more about it.
Safety / Range Rules
- Eye and ear protection is required at all time while participating in any of our activities and anytime while on the Sporting Clays course. We do have foam earplugs and used safety glasses for anyone who forgets to bring them.
- A gun is never loaded until the shooter takes their place on the stand / station. All other participants must stand behind the shooter.
- The shooter may not leave the stand / station until the gun is unloaded. We prefer that shooters leave the action open so others know it is not loaded
- We limit shot size to #7.5, #8, or #9 shot. Most use 7.5 or 8 target loads when shooting. Hunting loads are allowed as long as they are 7.5, 8, or 9 shot. This requirement is in place so all of the shot fired stays within the bounds of our property.
- Lastly, always keep guns pointed in a safe direction regardless of whether they are loaded or unloaded.
